Top conditioner for Men

Having long, flowing hair can be one of the biggest genetic blessings as a man, but can also be a nightmare if you’re not getting the correct amount of moisture. Applying conditioner for your hair is absolutely the most important step in developing a consistent and shining hair pattern. And if you’re still using a “2 in 1” shampoo/conditioner, I am literally begging you to stop immediately. Just read this top 5 conditioner for men list and you wont regret your new replacement.

If you have wavy or curly hair, I’m sure you’ve dealt with the untamable frizz that happens on the worst possible days. Waking up with your hair looking like one of those troll dolls, or hair completely dry and lopsided. Worry no longer, through intense research and personal experience I’ve narrowed the top 5 conditioner for men that apply the most moisture and nutrients for your waves and curls.

1. Sheamoisture curl & shine conditioner ($8)

SheaMoisture Conditioner

Speaking in terms of “bang for your buck”, the SheaMoisture Curl & Shine conditioner takes the top spot. With its attractive price tag, this conditioner is fantastic for detangling and keeping your curls under control. The cocunut and hibiscus scent will absolutely have your friends and family complimenting your hair scent, so preapre yourself for the constant “your hair smells nice!”

Considering the fact that I have a pretty sensitive scalp, my personal favorite feature of this product is that it is sulfate and paraben free, making it a great choice for guys struggling with a sensitive scalp. The cheap price tag might make you hesitant to purchase, but this has been one of the best conditioners I’ve used in my curly hair journey and I absolutely woud recommend it for anyone with curly to coily hair.

2. All About Curls Daily Cream Conditioner ($14)

All About Curls Condtioner

If you’re looking for an everyday conditioner that you can apply whenever your hair is begging for moisture, then the All About Curls daily cream conditioner is for you. With ingredients that include natural oils and extracts, this conditioner is designed to nourish and repelenish your curls, regardless of your hair texture or pattern.

Just like the SheaMoisture, this is a conditioner that is budget friendly and will have you covered in all your moisture needs while also getting rid of the stubborn frizz. There have been many guys and girls that have used this product and report afterwards that their hair has never been softer before.

The only reason this isn’t number one on the top 5 conditioner for men list is the scent. Some say that it can leave behind a “wet penny” smell, but personally I have used this condtioner and don’t have much of a complaint on the scent. But this is totally dependent on the user, so don’t be afraid to purchase a smaller size to try it out first.

3. Not Your Mother’s Curl Talk Bond Building Conditioner ($9)

Not your mother's Condtioner

The “Not your Mother’s” line offers many high quality products, but this condtioner is my personal favorite of the brand and one that I am currently using in my routine. The main pro of the Curl talk Bond Building conditioner is its ability to easily control frizz. It is safe for all hair types, including those with color-treated hair, and has a formula that is sulfate surfactant-free, silicone-free, paraben-free, dye-free, and drying alcohol-free.

Another great thing to note is that this conditioner is very well complimented with the Curl talk Bond Builing shampoo, which is also included in the link. If you’re someone who is active and works up a good sweat quite a bit, then I would highly recommend purchasing both the shampoo and condtioner as they work very well in cleansing and providing moisture.

The size of the bottle is 8 fluid ounces, which can be inconvenient as it runs out pretty quickly, especially if you find yourself using a good amount during each shower, hence the number 3 rank on the top 5 conditioner for men list. But with a low price tag it is fairly easy to stock up on a couple bottles.

4. DevaCurl One Condition Original Rich Cream Conditioner ($32)

DevaCurl Condtioner

DevaCurl is a very well-known and popular brand, and has been on top of the curly hair market for quite some time now. They’ve had many different condtioners and formulas, but the One Condition Original is their most updated and researched back conditioner. It works best for wavy and curly hair, and has absolutely everything you look for in a conditioner. It is spectacular in maintaining moisture, controling frizz and preventing breakage.

I’m sure you already can tell what the downside of this condtioner is. The green bottle (kidding of course). This is the pricest condtioner on this list, and can get quite expensive if you are looking to restock often. But this is one of the best conditioners I’ve ever used, and if you have a little extra in your budget, then by all means feel free to purchase this condtioner.

Overall, the One Condition Original by DevaCurl is a fantastic product that has everything you’re looking for packed into a highly researched formula, giving you shiny hair and bouncing curls. However this is a list that is looking for the best “bang for your buck”, and due to the high price tag it is number 4 on the top 5 conditioner for men list.

5. OGX Hydrating + Tea Tree Mint Conditioner ($7)

OGX Teatree mint Condtioner

Alright, all you minimalist guys can come out now. If you’re a man that doesn’t care much for details and want a conditioner that simply does its job well, then the Teatree mint condtioner by OGX is your match. With a formula that is blended with Australian tea tree oil and milk protein, it helps rejuvenate the scalp for a healthy look and feel while simultaneously smoothing and strengthening hair.

Don’t let the number 5 ranking on this discourage you, I absolutely love this conditioner and highly recommend it. The tree tree mint will leave your hair and scalp feeling very refreshed. Just think of it as a strong mint gum that freshens your breath but in condtioner form. This is one of the best scented condtioners on this list and surprisingly the smell lasts for a good while, considering the low price tag.

Keep in mind that this is not a conditioner that will perform any miracles for your hair, which is why it is number 5 on the top 5 condtioner for men list. However if you’re simply looking to maintain your current style and keep your hair strands moistured, then this is a great option for you.

Conclusion

That wraps it up for this list of top 5 condtioner for men. Any of these options are fantastic and you can’t realy go wrong with any of these choices. The realm of condtioners can be intimidating especially with so many options out there, but as long as you pick one from this list and stick with it, all your peers will be begging to find out your hair routine.
